Marco Vegezzi, (one of the co-creators and owners of the original company and non-profit that distributed the designs), respected and loved Derrick and his art and insisted Derrick be the artist.

Lightspeed Press and U.C.C. consisted of the united efforts of Marco Vegezzi, Kelly Crandall, and Dan Halper. Derrick Hare was good friends with both Marco and Jack Herer, and Marco believed that it was critical to channel Derrick's gift as an artist, into educational items that could be used to support the activists in the streets teaching the truth about how Hemp Can Save the Planet!

Sat Yaatraa agrees that Derrick's gift as an artist has powerful potential to transform consciousness around the conditioning concerning the Cannabis Hemp plant, and many other critcally important issues facing humanity and the earth.

People should plant the hemp seed everywhere again, and take advantage of its many uses in these times of such scarcity. We need this amazing resource for its food, oil, medicine, fiber, and fuel more than ever now, not to mention its ability to help with problems such as drought, fires, deforestation, desertification, starvation, economic crisis, poverty, and crime.
